Rylex products function as vulcanizing agents and/or antioxidants in rubbers.

AS A VULCANIZING AGENT

Primary Uses

• Auxiliary cross-linking agent for halobutyl rubber
• Covulcanizes halobutyl rubber with highly unsaturated rubbers
• Auxiliary cross-linking agent in NR and SBR adhesives
• Covulcanizing agent in neoprene/phenolic resin adhesive systems
• Cross-linking agent for open steam vulcanizing of chlorobutyl/natural rubber blends

Benefits

• Eliminates reversion. Moderates the stiffening effect and extends product life.
• Exerts a smoothing effect during mixing; aids in the dispersion of
  pigments.
• Donates sulfur to covulcanize halobutyl rubbers with highly unsaturated rubbers.
• Disperses more readily than free sulfur.

• Are non-blooming Have high tensile
• Have excellent heat aging

AS A HINDERED PHENOL ANTIOXIDANT

Primary Uses

• Antioxidant in tire sidewall formulations

• Acts as a radical-free terminator -Inhibits peroxide formulations -Destroys hydroperoxides

Rylex Alkyl phenol polysulfides, composed primarily of para-tert butyl phenol, are:

• 99% pure, contrasted to competitive amyl phenol disulfides
• Tack free
• Clear amber, brittle resin which shatters quickly to fine powder
